welp i reckon mine is definitely fuel related becaus ei have to keep my foot flat on the floor in the morning to get the fuel out and she keeps cuttiong out once started.  After about 8 starts with my foot flat on the accelerator she finally starts and keeps running.  Anyone any ideas?  Please its getting desperate now

Have you checked the o2 sensor?  Had problems with a Subaru running very rough when cold, wouldn't start etc, turned out the Lambda probe was knackered and the mixture was all wrong.  Maybe nothing, but worth a try! :undecided:

Does the main pump prime when you turn the key?  Is the lift pump working too?

Check the single lead on the temp sender on the back of the head this can sometimes cause starting probs.
Also have you checked the injectors to see what the spray pattern is like also wether they are leaking at the nozzle .
Have had similar problems on other VAG cars with K-Jet system.
If they are left over night or over a few hours fuel leaks out of the injectors into the cylinders making them a right sod to start due to excessive fuel  You can try unplugging the cold start injector to see if it makes a difference (less fuel) but ultimately you may find that new injectors will sort it . :undecided:

cheers for you rreplies.  Unfortunately i havnt had time to look at the car because i just realised it was a week overdue for its mot.  Mechanic said it sounded like the WUR.  I have tried unplugging the CSV but it make sno difference
