SHARAN BADGE DISASTER
« on: 25 March 2012, 17:53 »
Thought i would share my epic fail with everone

Long story short i wasnt happy with my sharan badge as the silver was pretty crap so i decided to wrap the backing in carbon fiber .......... Then it went extremley wrong how is the possible your wondering ? Did he drop it and scratch it ? No! Did he melt the backing with the hairdryer ? No!

Soo i put the badge on top of the car once it was done started picking the old sticky pads off, decided to give it a wipe with some cleaner and a cloth then it happend lol i opened the boot and heared the badge sliding abit (though thats ok its not going to do any damage) i then grabbed the cloth and sprayed and closed the boot and heared a loud crunch ..... I grinned to myself and thought fcuk it i presumed the badge was gunna be crunched up ... Which it was a bit i then looked at the spoiler and it managed to take a fooooking chip out of it !!!!!!

The paint was blistering on the spoiler a little bit and did eventually need spraying yh well it deffinitly does now

This is a good inch long

And theres the obvious chip/crack on the badge and a hairline one on the v

It will be fine if the chromes wrapped so it will be up for sale eventually

Hope you enjoyed !

I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

It would look good but then theres the badges .... Id rather sell it on for someone to wrap then buy another as wrapping is a piece of piss that took less than 5 mins to do

must be something with sharan badges i had similar problem trying to fit mine, i ordered my sharan badge from vw £21 later what a rip off for just a badge, i got home and started to prize the badge off and then bang off it came taking all the paint off around it, my tailgate has been resprayed and the idiots who done it masked up around the badge than sooner remove badge so now i have to paint tailgate nice cheap mod has now become a pain in the arse, was going to fill in badge recess but cant be arsed now when im better will sort it out, already got my 2k filler primer and 1 ltr of LO41 to sort it out and have a few skuffs on bumpers i will do at same time, sadly another  reason its on hold is our other car was stolen so just the golf at moment so cant take it off the road to make a start sadly as only car we have.
