Yeah wrong side. :lipsrsealed:

Nope when warm absoloutely fine, or just a small knock and puff of blue.

Drives fine through the gears - no knocking or nasty noises and can still drive it hard enough that it goes into limp in 4th.

Me mate told us how to check the plugs to see if they're knackered by reverse circuiting it with a circuit lamp off the battery, so may give that a try. Chances are they could do with a replace and this is all just some lovely coincedence where my gun ho attitude had nothing to do with it!

Lots of reading on the Mr muscle topic, it sounds like a winner. But guess we all have our own opinions

How could it of bent a rod? Innotec cleaner is only fluid? Was that just a totally wrong hypothesis or am I missing a trick, some one please explain

As it was explained to me - diesels don't start the same as petrol cars. A petrol car will start from igniting fluid off of a spark plug. Diesels start by compression, so if anything gets into the block and on top of a piston, when it comes to start there isn't as much space as before. So when you go to start and the piston travels up it can't travel the full length of the block so stops early, but the rod still needs to push up - hence it getting bent.

May be wrong but that's how it was explained to me.

Oh, yea course, you cannot compress a liquid!

Opinions please?

A friend said from cold when starting try priming it 3 or 4 times - turn it off and on so if one of the plugs is not working correctly it should make it warm up a bit more. Tried it this morning and the car fired up a hella lot easier. Still coughed a load of blue and a bit lumpy on intial drive and then smoothed out with no smoke.

I want to change all the plugs, but am flat broke at the moment, but would this hint more at plugs then a bent rod?

Went into soft limp 3 times today on the run in as well from sticking when on boost.

Umm yes, if your plugs are old and then priming the engine a couple of times should warm it up more. As for the blue smoke out the back doesn't that indicate that your burning oil? :lipsrsealed: :undecided:

Just as a guide a set of plugs for the wifes Altea which has a PD engine cost me £30 for the 4 today so not a real bank breaker :afro:

Cheers fir that. Still 2 weeks till payday.

The other thing I may look into is Vergil the injectors flushed / cleaned.

Mpg is down and it doesn't seem as responsive all the time - some times it really goes and other times it struggles a bit.

Ho hum! Serves me right I guess!
