I wish they'd hurry the hell up.  I don't really have much of a purpose for one, it just looks like fun to play with

I got mine on Saturday last week :) Basically a guy on the local Sheffield Forum posted saying he wanted rid of his as he didn't have time. 30 quid, went straight round and it was mine!

I've had Debian running on it which is pretty cool. Got XBMC running on it too, but it freezes looooads. When I have gotten it to play video, it works great. Not tried 1080 yet though. I've not been able to get it to hook up to my Synology NAS yet either.. It crashes (requiring reboot) before it works!

Need to have more of a play with it when I get some free time :) End plan is to run it as a media centre for my living room TV. Before that I wanted to muck about with it and maybe set it up as a Nagios server.

Just bear in mind, it only has hardware decoding support for h.264 - any other codec is going to use CPU to decode, ie. slow.

If I get one more email from RS telling me more sh!t about the Rasberry Pi - but not the fact I can actually buy one, I'm going to burn down their headquarters*

* Burning down not guaranteed, maybe a polite email instead

Going to build a 22" touch screen Pi project...

Leave your suggestions below and I'll try do them, if they're reasonable.

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.
