Busy day. 

Bought a random box of 2.5 inch bends off ebay as I though id make solid intercooler pipe work, reduce the risk of leaks as much as possible.



Striping off the old pipe work



Making it to keep it tucked in as much as possible to reduce the bumper bulge

Bought another fuel rail to try and make the fpr as oem as poss. Dont know whether it will work but will soon find out.

One tiny bit of weld over ran so need a hack saw blade just to sort that out so the nut will still spin freely, will sort that tomorrow.

Another busy day

sorted out the fpr so that fits


one side pipework welded and started spraying



inlet mani with throttle body fitted just standard one for now




Started on the otherside pipe work





didnt have a nut to fit the WMI as its tight thread  so cut it out of plate and tapped it

Pipe work finished and painted still need to bead it



Fitting the rail working out where things are going to go

Well haven't done to much on this as been getting side tracked having to work on my work van which is still playing up Also been sorting bits for a future project. 

Welded the boss in the downpipe for the afr



Fitted it back on the car and fitted a lambda sensor for the afr, pulled all the wires through just need to fit gauge in the car.

Pipe work all finished welded little bits of metal on the end of each pipe instead of beading to stop any popping off. Water tested as well to make sure there were no leaks.

On the car


Inlet mani all fitted with pipe now connected need to find somewhere to fit the catch can now as it came off the old inlet before. Also want to try and tidy up the vac hoses so orderd some more and will try and hide them a bit better




Just need to replace the fuel filter then its ready to start her up again and make sure it all works 

And fitted these looks much better I think

Did a few bits today, started on moving the battery to the boot and setting the terminals in the bay.

I got a battery power cable from a bmw and fed it through a grommet so it came out by the ecu so I can then feed it down with all the other cables to keep it hidden.



Once the plastic casing goes back on it will be hidden

Used a couple of distribution boards for the terminals decided to keep the fuse box and screwed it all to the battery tray.



Earth terminal to the right, positive to the left, will make a cover to go over the lot.

Next hide the wire through the interior to the boot fit the battery and make a good earth. Shoulf free up some space in the bay.

Cracked on with fitting the battery in the boot fixed in the tray.

Will tack this bolt onto the boot for a good earth, hopefully should be ok?

Big fuse to keep things safe just needs a clean


Next started on fitting the gauge

Stripped it out which was a mission, not looking forward to putting it back together lol.



Took out the cup holder and cut a bit of SS to size and plasma cut out the holes



Welded on a couple of bits of metal on the back so could screw it in and its all good



Will wrap it, have decided in what yet. Now just need to get and fit the oil pressure/temp gauge

Should look good I reckon.



Going to play around and get a good colour combo they come with different faces, ordered some vinyl wrap so hopefully can getting it looking good

Got this wkend free so will hopefully wire and plumb it all in and get it working.

I tided up the vac hoses a bit and now with the battery out of the way can fit the other filter.






So plans for the wkend wire everything back in, battery, gauges, EBC etc and make a cover for the old battery tray and make sure it all works!
