Compromise would be just out side M4 near Heathrow tube near by to London and a short drive from Oxford on M40!
I'm sure somewhere like Hayes is not too close to airport?

Durban is a nice place, my mate worked at Toyota nearby and rates it for surf and general good vibe.
However I hear Jo berg and Cape town are a lot worse than London , I can only go by what I am told as I have never been to SA
