Canbus install for RCD510 upgrade help

Hey guys, does anyone in the North West do the Canbus Gateway upgrade, as I have my 2011 RCD510 ready to install & I don't want to chance my car has the correct canbus to stop the power drain.

I have checked with VW & they want £140+ just for the part without fitting.

I am temped to findout the part No & get one from Ebay, as VW said it's £40 to install + Code which I thought is a good price

I'm not 100% sure which part No I require

I'm getting a rcd510 in my 07 gt 170 will it need a new campus thing or not if so how much are they and what do they do

First get a vcds scan of your can gateway as that will show what version you have and will determine if you need to upgrade it.
