I dont buy in to "all bmw drivers are c***s"

Nope they're still all in BMW's. What has changed is that they seem to have branched out from the 3 series and now inhabit the 1 series, 3 series and X3 models.

In fact they also drive X5, X6 and 5 series models.

And then they're sometimes in 6 series coupe's and even the odd 7 series which I saw last night change 3 lanes and take an exit over the white chevrons, all without indicating.

But as for folks doing up their cars, well there are plenty of Mk6's around where I live that have Monza's (some of them are reps) and different trims and at night when you only catch a glimpse you'd be forgiven for thinking they were GTI's. But the kids aren't trying to pretend they have GTI's, they just want their cars looking good.

It's funny, because we call applying higher spec parts to our own cars "OEM upgrades", but for everybody else it's "being a cnut".

The difference being the parts being applied to many VWs (noticeably not Golf3s and it's like a rash in the Golf4 arena too) are OEM, rather than cr@ppy after-market rubbish.

Except the awful RS8 and the like replica wheels.  They seem to be pretty common.

So far on my Passat I've fitted a Polo aerial (cheaper) and I'll be replacing the chrome-highlight side trims with matte black ones shortly.  Again, they're cheaper and less likely to curl off and catch on the other trims.

Generally only nippers replace stuff to make things look faster.  Most older folk realise it makes you look a tool.

Except maybe the tools in BMWs, who've been sticking M badges on 318s and 520s since you could buy M badges.

Suppose. But going for the replica M3 look is better than the Halfords look at least.

And who got the best Christmas present ever when BMW decided you could buy M-sport cars with M-badges everywhere and a 318d or 320d badge on the back.

You also get other oem extras when you spec an m sport model. In fairness the list of options you do get when you spec m-sport packs far outweighs the sum of the parts.

If you do want to mod, dont try make your car look like something its not. M-Sport is a pack specific from factory. M - Division cars are totally different.

What part of hooky knock-off angel eyes is M3?
