sensor in bumper?

noticed this when taking my bumper off, what does it to, must be some kind of sensor i reckon as there wires going into it
weirdos on here i tell you ;)
mk4 golf 1.8T, AGU, CAI, Forge007p DV,TIP,Decat, Bilsteins with Koni springs dropped 40mm

Gone but still keeping a close eye on it...
