At that price it'd still work out decent value if you upgraded it.

I just ignored the warning light, you soon get used to it!

I agree that is a great price, he'd deffo get more than that on eBay.

A control module for the electrics. There are several different versions of it and people call it by different names.

I upgraded mine to Golf R ones on my 09 GTI, i didnt need a BCU upgrade Steve P did the coding.

I had just had mine in the dealers as the alarm kept going off, Steve reconed they might have upgraded some softaware as he had never seen an 09 car that didnt need a new BCU.

The dealer wont generally upgrade the BCU software unless there is a fault. Might be worth blagging an alarm fault to see if they upgrade the software, it will save you a couple of hundred quid getting a new BCU

They look cack. One day you'll be parked next to a car with OEM LED's and think "WTF did I waste my money on those for?"
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

I just ordered mine from a German eBay seller. I thought it was just a random seller but I think it's actually a main dealer out there (from looking at his website link / email address). He checked my VIN number and said I didn't have to upgrade anything for them to work. My car is a 59 plate, but September registered so must have been touch and go with the build date.

Anyway they were 477 euros including postage and adapters, so about £412. This was outside of eBay to save fees. They haven't arrived yet so not sure if I'll have to pay any import tax.. I'd I don't I think that's a pretty decent price.
