does the tiguan share the same chassis as the mk5 then?

It does, built on the PQ35 platform which is also used for the mk5 and mk6 Golf's

I loved my MK1 GTi.  I would have another GTi if I did less mileage or had more money.  I have been converted to oil burners and like how are easy they are to drive on a long journey with all that torque.  I have a friend and a family member with the GT 140 and I nearly bought one.  They are great cars.  Perhaps I needed something different?

Yes, hope you get well soon.  I had some problems with my liver last year.  The only good thing is it is good at repairing itself....

Yes your right it ,but not cirrosis part off liver through out the 80's I was bang at it which is why i'm suffering now thanks though mate. :wink:
