Spacers and wheel bolts
« on: 20 January 2012, 13:20 »
Ok was fiddling with my new bora today and noticed to fit the 18" 8j wheels on the front the previous owner has fitted what look like about 6 mm spacer. But it still had the original wheel bolts.
What size spacer do you normaly need to use bigger bolts with? I am only getting maybe just under 3 full turns of the bolt at the moment. Is this safe?

Bolts are too short, you can use standard bolts with a 3mm or 5mm spacer, but to be safe you need longer bolts I suspect yours are 10mm

Ok just went and measured them. They are 5mm. And the packet they came in is still in the boot and that says 5mm aswell. So they should be ok then you think?

M14 x 1.5
Standard bolts are 27mm so 35mm bolts will do fine
