I got my last suit from Slaters too. Had to try on several and even then had to get the sleeves and trousers adjusted.

There was a tailor within walking distance who wanted £800 for a handmade suit. I'm very tempted.

If, like me, you are a funny shape (i'm short and slightly tubby around the middle) then suits from M&S are awesome. They let you pick and match different size jacket and trousers so you can get the perfect fit. They are excellent quality and price ranges from cheap to quite expensive.

i would have thought that was the case with most suit purchases?

Just thought I'd share.

Went to Slaters to look at their suits earlier.  I really like how they lay the suits out in chest size order, really easy to find something in my size, 44R.  Found a nice suit, tried it on and the assistant came over to pend a hand.  I thought it looked fine, but he noticed the legs were too long.  No problem sir, we'll tale the leg in an inch for you, free of charge.  He also got me some black shoes to try on to get a better feel for how the suit would look.  Took it all to the till for me, paid, collecting it on Wednesday.

Icing on the cake though.  Myla was crying because she was hungry and the milk we had for her was cold.  The same assistant offered to take the milk to the staff room and warm it up for us, then he found a quiet part of the store where we could take her to be fed.

Top class service :afro:

Nope. Designer suits like Boss, armani et al. come in pre-packaged sizes. The general rule for designer suit sizes is the size of your waist is 6 inches is less than your chest size. Example if your chest size is 40inches our waist should be 34inches. I don't it into this general rule and find that designer suits don't fit. I guess the designer labels want their suits to fit certain shaped people and not short fatties like me.

Seems right from what I saw.

I bought a 44R suit and it came with 38R trousers.  Luckily they fit pretty well, I'll be needing a belt though.  I said I wanted to buy an extra pair of trousers, they said I couldn't.
