On the off chance I phoned my old Suzuki dealer and asked if he could beat the quote I was given by kwikfit to supply and fit the goodyears and he's gonna do it for £485 so the cost is now £121.25 each fitted..

I totally trust these guys as I've been with them for the past 6yrs and have had loads of stuff fitted by them with no probs....

He'll fit in well there then!

Well I've now picked up the Monza Shadow II's.....they are (like ash said) in Brand spanking new condition with not a blemish on them....I just have to get rid of the residue left from the barcodes....they came in vw bags and boxes....Ash is a top fella, a really genuine guy....and it's a BIG THANK YOU!! to him

I suppose if you treat people with respect and the way you would like to be treated then in turn they will treat you the same...LOL

Here's some pics......Thanks Ash!!

Aren't Monzas on a GTD going to look a little strange

Each to his own and all that but anyone in the know will just think that it's a GTD trying to be something it's not.

I know you said you liked the look of the monzas and that's why you chose them but I think people will form a certain opinion when looking at the car, even if that's not your intention.

Anyway, as I said, each to his own.
Mk7 GTI. DBP, DCC, Winter pack. Mine since new, July 2013.
GTI no. 4. Golf no. 5.  VW no. 7.

Apart from the exhaust/diffuser and the colour of the stripes on the grille the GTD and GTI look identical anyway - so monzas won't look out of place on a GTD at all.

Yeah totally understand where your coming from...but I've always wanted a performance golf and I've always liked the look of the monzas...this is my first vw and if I could of I would of paid extra for the GTI but there is a very valid reason why I couldn't get the gti (and it's not the money) if you must know...im actually disabled, So I've bought the monzas as a compromise!
In my opinion they won't look to out of place as (mac7) said the gti and gtd look similar...only a few differences...
