Been to kwikfit today to get a quote to supply and fit the goodyear eagles which came back as £600+.....

so I said ''oh okay thanks''

kwikfit guy says ''what have you been offered''

so I say ''£500 fitted''

kwikfit guy says ''hang on''

He goes and speaks to his manager and comes back and says ''we will match that''....it works out at £125 a piece which i thinks quite good!

So once I have picked up the wheels on saturday I will be getting them fitted with rubber sometime next week....then they will be stored till 2nd march which is when i pick up my new ride....i will be keeping the seattles for winter....Woohoo me! lol

Once again thanks for all of your comments...

Here is the Autoexpress test on a Golf with 17s

Here the Contisports are 6th and they mention they are one of the worst in the wet.
You wonder about these tests sometimes, probably best using them as general advice and going with what works best for you.

1. Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 2
2. Michelin Pilot Sport 3
3. Pirelli P Zero
5. Vredestein Ultrac Cento
5. Nokian Z G2
6. Continental Contisportcontact 3
7. Dunlop SP Sport Maxx TT
8. Bridgestone Potenza S001
9  Apollo Aspire 4
10. Hankook Ventus S1 EVO

the results don't tell the whole story though
the bridgestones are the best in the dry cornering and lap times but road noise and rolling resistance spoil the final score

IMO the sport contact 3 is the best tyre I've used.
