^ a rabbit got sucked into the air intake and got hot.. lol...

anyways.. in some cars (maybe WRC?) dont they put plastic tubes full of water all under the bonnet.. if a fire happens the plastic melts and then the water comes out and eveything gets drenched (with any luck)

Least they can save the wheels!

I carry one in the Landy, tho not in the golf. May be swapping things over!

One day last summer saw 3 different vehicles on fire, stopped at the first 2 with the works van extinguisher, but by the third it was empty so drove on! luck of the draw i suppose.

since my last motor caught fire i now carry a fire extinguisher, so at least i could have a token effort at putting out a fire.....to just stand there and do nothing would be a nightmare. Scary how fire can take hold so quickly. I went out to walk the dog and then came back 45 mins later to find the fire brigade dousing my car.....electrical fault had set fire to the fuse box and nothing was left of the front end up to the seats (the rear of the car was ok!!), but the ins payout (+£4k!)allowed me to get my current ride and move away from french tat so not all bad and nobodys gonna nick my wheely bin now!!

i just remembered something guys.. opening the bonnet IS a good idea in this situation...

years ago a a neighbors car caught fire.. probably an electrical thing like described above..

the bonnet was blown in the air since there was a big build up under the hood.. so much so that there was a big bang, the bonnet flew in the air and a huge flame shot upwards...

now thinking back..  keeping all doors closed windows down, bonnet closed etc is a BAD idea in a car fire since the pressure is likely to blow them open and pop the glass etc anyways..

looking around online the advice as far as the bonnet goes is to release but not open it..

I saw a vid like this of a 355 catching fire on one of the Ferrari forums a few weeks back. Immediately went on ebay and bought a fire extinguisher - which now sits in the car, within easy grasp.

If the guy had got the bonnet open and emptied the contents of his fire extinguisher (and his kidneys etc) on car, instead of knobbing around with a camera, then the car probably wouldn't have gone like that.

 I Just lost my dinner!
Absolutley Heartbreaking!  At least the insurance company got proof that the fire was not a deliberate act!
But WHY Didn't they empty that fire extinguisher onto the turbo ASAP?
Knobs!

Thank Christ the fuel tank didn't go up too!
But it's a sort of mod, i think, a golf GTFry!

Why did you lose your dinner? Someone steal it? It's certainly not worth losing it over that video.

The reason they didn't empty the fire extinguisher is probably because they were too busy knocking one out at the engine being on fire.

cor look cletus the engine is on fire...

aww shucks jerimiah, what we going to do now....

I know lets stand here with out camera and record it all going up in flames.

Should of climbed in and closed the doors again after them.... f**king tards.
