Lovely motor! Now get it remapped!

Looks fantastic. Love the wheels but how small does it make the brakes look??

I love the wheels... but agree the rear discs looks a little inadequate against those big 19" alloys!

I assume they're 19"... weird it doesn't have the little wheel spat things the R has on the arches:

They are 7.5" rather than 8" that R owners have. Make of that what you will...

I think the Ed35 is probably the best of the fast Golfs - and it looks great in red

That looks fabulous; was seriously considering getting one myself but can't decide whether to get an R or an ED35. Even though I love my carbon grey the tornado red looks gorgeous.
Enjoy.

Yes indeed smiffy; £33K for a new ED35 or £38K for a new R [both with my spec] or about £32K for a 12 month old R with similar spec and about 8k miles on the clock.
What do you get with the R? 31PS more and 4WD, is it worth it? You tell me. Alternatively [and I've been looking at this] a Porsche 911 [997] Carrera 4S about 5 or 6 years old with low mileage for about £40K. Only problem with the Porsche is that running costs are greatly increased.

It's a tough choice. I'd go for the 1 year old R or the 5/6 year old 997 Carrera 4S as the 4WD means they'll put the power down better on the damp UK roads. Also, means they're practical in snowy conditions.

Would you be interested in a 2 year old R with 28K on the clock? I know one potentially coming up for sale soon.

Does the R have a wider rear track as well, being 4WD?

I'm also in the camp that's not keen on the wheels. There is one in the showroom at South Hereford Garages at the moment, and I just can't take to them.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Nice car, afraid those wheels really cheapen the look though IMO.

Couldnt justify an R as absolutely awesome as they R (get it)

Petrol would kill me the amount of miles i do at the weekend.   im feeling the difference in MPG already

As for the wheel comments I know what you mean but like with everyone each there own i suppose!
