Chuck an extra spare wheel in the boot for the same lowering effect!

You can get the b12 kith either eibach pro kit which is only 20mm lower or something or the sportline springs which are 35mm lower or something.

If you only want a subtle drop eibach pro kit are without doubt the way to go. Might as well fit the bilstein dampers while your on.

I have Eibach Sportline in mine and cannot fault them  Actually saw another GTI a few months ago and first thing I noticed was how high it sits!

The problem i had with the KW V3s were the rubber bushes on the bottom of the rear shocks, if you don't do any trackdays i would just fit lower springs, if you want adjustability i would prob go for the Bilsteins, from what i hear they are not too harsh a ride

Bilstein B16 PSS10's, the best coilovers I've felt in the MKV and are almost identical for the MKVI.

Softest setting is like stock and hardest setting is like rock. Easily adjustable for damping rate without having to remove the wheels too.

Took everything I threw at them and they were still as good as new when I finally sold them on.

Not cheap though at around £1,400.

You pay for the best though.

Definitely the Bilstein PSS. I've had a couple of sets of coilovers from Bilstein and Koni and never had any issues with quality or ride comfort on various VW's. Too many people try to save money on coilovers by buying cheap or in the quest for ultimate lows - neither of which gives a good result.

The coil overs i have: http://www.namotorsports.net/Koni/Suspension/Coilovers/Part-Number=KO1150-5080

And the drop i have achieved with about 8 threads available to drop it even more:

As for the ride, i have mine set to full stiff in the back and about 3/4 stiff in the front, it is a little harsher but not really all that bad in my opinion. (ignore the low exhaust haha, installed it that day, tweaked it that night so it actually sits correctly now. )

any update on this?

if your running 19's and only after a small drop then eibach only lower 20mm so you will be fine. coil overs are 40-60mm usually.

anyway... possible group buy anyone?

I've been looking into this for a while and I've narrowed it down to either eibach B12 kit or koni sport kit. the konis have adjustable shocks.

OR if i were to go down the coilover route koni get really good reviews if you search the web.

you can get eibach coil overs but they're made by KW and a lot of people say they leak after a while?! not sure if koni are made by KW also but they do get a good write up and seem to ride well on the road - not too harsh etc...

No not yet, i've got my eye on some new alloys so i'm just waiting for a decision from the seller before i make my mind up on which suspension kit i'm going to buy, depends on how much cash i've got left over if i buy new wheels.
