i have just taken a set off my mk4

you dont need any arch work unless stupid low i was running -50mm with only scrubbing on harsh dips, and thats with 255 on the rear not a stupid stretch 225, with standard camber aswel

i think 4mos are lower as standard so maybe equal to 60mm for a gti

i fitted coilovers and wound it down to around 80mm and thats when they started scrubbing on front and rear, but i ran 1.5 degrees rear camber, standard on a 4mo as far as im aware, and no arch work

Each to there own, i do like them just im going bit turbo in my 4motion and dont see the point in spending thousands on it to lose power down to wheel weight, they are heavy compared to my standard 16's

Weight is one reason I really like my pro race 1.2's 18" and only 9kg each, it drives so much better than it did with the much heavier BBS reps.

Yeah i think the cupras weigh in at 10.6kg, i would like some oz allegrita (bad spelling) but cost a small fortune with tyres! I like the pro race 1.2 and not mega expensive

I was very lucky in finding a s/h set, they are not that easy to find s/h, new I think they are around £600 a set.

ultralegerras have to be the best weight to cost ratio wheels, shame they are a bit ugly!

I bet real ch's are light enough, just very expensive and like you say common looking because of the amount of cheap sh!tty replicas.

I remember seeing a round of the vw cup, maybe 2007, and half of the grid were using ch's.
