Does the alternator on the 16v most definitely do the job ?

Still considering all options..... :undecided:

Thanks for all the help folks, managed to find someone pretty local who can get it done today/tomorrow for me. Yay !

Took it off in about 40 minutes which is quite an achievement for me with my limited tools, but it is one of the reasons why we drive a Mark 2... compared to todays cars they are relatively simple and accessible to work on.

Just might take me a little longer to get it all back on properly but I have faith and an extra pair of hands thanks to my chick being a willing helper and general encouraging comment maker.

Cheers all....

Should be all done and nicely back on the road by Monday latest.
I was going to mention that I did enjoy a hot drink, made by my lovely helper - whose help without, I could not have managed (Im sure she reads these posts)

Will update as and when things are totally sorted, hopefully with some before and after pics of J693SRP.  She has been standing for well over 18 months and has not been touched in that time, apart from to be dragged along to her annual MOT.  Her White paint and black trim are really off colour at the moment.  This should change over the next few days now we finally have taken possession of the old girl.

Exciting times ahead......
