VW "Solutions" finance deals - too good to be true?

Hi guys, just checking out my options as I need to trade in my 2004 DSG Mk V for a manual (wife learning to drive) and was thinking about the easy option, i.e. a trade in at VW and a monthly deal on a newer one. So I checked out their "Solutons" finance options and, having never bought that way before, it all looks too good to me true!

Deposit, monthly payments... then pay it off, trade it or give it back?! All sounds far to good / flexible to be true.

Maybe I'm missing something? Anyone used "Solutions" and can feedback? cheers.

In order to get the agreed future value, you must not exceed the agreed mileage, or an excess applies, and they will hit you very hard for any interior or exterior blemish.

The other thing is that if you hand the car back after 3 years, you might be left with nothing; the agreed future value simply settles the remaining loan balance. You then need to scrape together a deposit to start the cycle again.

Solutions/PCP is a good way of running a newer car for a lower monthly figure.

People forget that no everyone can outright buy a new car, hardly anyone can do that really (an those that say they do....HPI's tell all!)

Go for it, if the monthly figures good for you, do it!

thanks for the insights, guys - will speak to them and feedback.

Appreciate they need to protect their investment, so it will be interesting to see how open they are about the risk to me of dings etc on the final 'agreed' value. I also presume that taking good care of it includes ensuring VW handle every single piece of maintenance...

Will also get my own DSG on the classifieds here - be great to sell to a real GTi fan, not to mention getting a decent amount for it, rather than just what the Dealer's prepared to give me...
