This could be a good excuse to dehandle cour doors......

DONT DE-HANDLE YOUR DOORS!!!

Nearly failed my MOT yesterday as my chrome ones only open with a key that I only have. You twist the key and the door opens instead of pressing to release. So imagine the trouble youll get into if they were de-handled!

Not too keen on the uprated spec handles though. Think original ones with chrome inserts look cool

Chrome.......mmmm......

i've got the mk3 style of these 'chinese spec' handles on mine. they fit and work quite well but needed quite a few washers fitting to the screw that goes inside the door.

ha, I was waiting for that.

What I meant to say was, I had a bit of screwdriver rage when the fookin handles wouldn't fit and then sheps bodged fixed them using some washers to push the handles further towards the inside edge of the door so that they open correctly.

Hey, the use of washers is a genuine fix (it even says so in the destructions) it was just my use of electrical ring connectors with the ends chopped off as washers (on the basis I had no washers that fitted) that was a slight bodge sorry, deviation from correct install.

It worked didn't it?

Now thatmy garage is tidy and organised, it means that:

a) I can now find proper washers.
b) I have space to store the Rallye interior

I've just bought these and the rear one as a test fitted and worked fine but the rubber grommets aren't tight to the door so water can get in behind them. I'm going to order some rubber sheets and cut out my own I think to seal the gaps up properly.
