Coil pack warranty---- Now car not running right
« on: 14 December 2011, 19:13 »
So after seeing the thread a few days ago I got intouch with my local depot to which I was informed I was elligable for the 4 coil packs to be replaced under warranty..... Brilliant  to which i left the car with them last night for me to pick it up today, even gave it a free vallet  Driving home through the city absolutely fine, could infact say it ran better than before (not that there was any running issues)
all was fine untill I got stopped at a red just prior to the dual carriage way! turned off the ESP just for a bit of fun and as soon as i was in second underboost the car jolted I got the engine management light flashing at me, car sounds like what I can only describe as a 'subaru/aircooled vw' absolutely gutless and very lumpy. pulled straight over with hazzards bla bla bla. the symptoms above to me would suggest its not running on all 4 cylinders. Switched the car off for a few minutes turned back on running normal took it very gently home untill I could have a looky under the bonnet to see if maybe one of the leads had come off a coil!?... No absolutely fine. running as what I can describe as normal, took it for another spin giving it some and exactly the same thing happened running sh!te and not on all 4 cylinders

Just after some advice really as to where I stand with the 'stealers!? as somethings obviously not right????

cheers

Mines the AUQ 180 which was under recall allong with the AUM i believe!?

thats what my money would be on a coil fault as sometimes it runs fine and when its under heavy load fails

bloody typical kind of regret taking it in now as it was fine before hand and as off tomorrow when I take it back to them will have costed me 4 trips there and back.....

I did have to  put a Signature under

' CARRIED OUT IGNITION COIL RECALL
 Customer signature required as achknoweledgement
that the above work has been completed'

Where do I stand with them correcting it free of charge!?

thanks

u could allways have the car running! and swap over the coil packs to see which one is not working! then go in there and say you have done checks ( that) and you have a faulty coil pack! :\
