The rebate come from when I went to college in 2006. I left a full time job halfway through the tax year. And then the following year, when I left college back into full time work. Getting a couple grand back
I didn't even know you could claim tax back. . .
I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

Good news Steve :afro:

My missus also received a letter yesterday, didn't read it properly and thought they said she owed them tax so she called them and found out they owe her money - funniest thing is she didn't even work the year they're paying her back for  :lipsrsealed:

Well confused with my work they say they pay something like 15 a day on tax and national insurance when I earn under that amount through them. I said bout a rebate and they said that the company has to pay that in contributions not in my wages?

So are they talking crap or am I entitled to a rebate?

Where all my moneys went.

*Sigh.

A business has to pay Employers NI contributions of 13.8% of your gross salary.

You also have to pay NI contributions at 12% + Tax PAYE.

Claim it back or wait for them to sort it out and get a brucey bonus whenever they get round to it. I got almost £600 in 2005 after having worked in a pub in 2001/2002 part time for 6 months on emergency tax rate  Was also right before Chrimbo too
