Heritage quoted over £1700

Best I can find is gocompare via admiral £460

Sky Insurance was £490 and I have to get cat 2 alarm

Any advice guys? I have no convictions, no accidents, 28 years old, driving 8 years, 5 years NCB, have another insured vehicle campervan, and I do under 4000 miles a year. Only after TPFT.

Should be cheaper no?

Surely a classic policy would come up cheaper? I'm a couple of years older than you are, but everything else checks out the same - unless you live in a war zone, I can't understand it. Maybe for some reason your car is not showing up as >20 years old yet and not clocking as eligible for classic insurance? That's all I can think!

Have you had a quote for fully comp? Oddly, it can be cheaper as statisicly, people who ask for fully comp are seen to be a lower risk. A low risk named driver added will help too. Wife, Girlfriend, Parents?

Also, try a classic policy. My renewal for my 16V came through from HIC at £129.00. At that price, I'm not even going to bother shopping round.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Good news, Heratiage called and quoted £420

Bad news.. Seller messaged saying "The item is no longer available" after I fing won the auction, sent 4 messages talkign with him about the car and me arranging insurance and cash today. Then an hour ago got that message. I am so out of pocket now.

He is going to pay one way or another

Lame!

That kind of trick gets pulled every now and then on eBay unfortunately. I've bought and sold a few cars on eBay over the years, and have never once let the auction run to term. Have always either turned up with the cash and made an offer if I liked the car, or had someone do the same to me and then pulled the auction.

Better luck next time :)

You would be VERY lucky to get £750 in parts for it but at that price - Enjoy it if he lets it go to you.
