A sorry sight for all the aircooled lovers
« on: 06 May 2005, 11:36 »
My quest for an affordable bay window camper took me to a field last night where my mate told me he had spotted several abandoned old dubs. I thought it had to be worth a look but they were all feeling a bit too sorry for themselves. The blue camper was complete with interior etc but was heavily rotted in all the usual bay window areas. It's tax disc ran out in 96 and I guess it's been standing there since.
Poor old dubs..........

Yeah there are some interesting parts Paul.
The purple bay has got the louvred opening windows down the offside.
The blue one has all its chrome hubcaps present and a full camping interior complete with gas rings. Both have extending roofs which look pretty complete.
I've got a phone number for the guy who owns the land but I don't think he would be interested in letting me rob parts from them as it wouldn't really be doing him any favours.
Suppose I could just go and get me a five finger discount on all worthy parts but knowing my luck I'd get rumbled.

I noticed the first two had pop tops, they might even be dormobiles by the looks of it.  :undecided: Tell the guy you might be able to sell some of the parts off them on some of the aircooled sites and split the coin,   the windows themselves could be sold easy peasy as could the pop tops.
