That is oil temp so will be a higher reading than water temp.

The temperature on the MAF is for the oil temp and the gauge is for water temp.

The cutting out at junctions is what mine did when I purchased it. Check all the breather hoses for splits or tears. Even a pin hole will cause it to suffocate.

Also, give the throttle body a good clean with some carb cleaner.

Have a look at the guides here, plenty about.

If you need a new breather hose, I have a few and happy to help if you are near Milton Keynes.

My temp on the MAF only goes above 90 if I give it a good thrash or on a long run down the motorways. Mine sits around mid 80's normally.

Temp sender, themostat or air lock I suspect.

When you take the breather pipe off from the flying saucer (under box on top of rocker cover) be careful as the ends get very brittle. Same with the other end at the crankcase breather, make sure you take to clip out first before you yank at it.

When you got it off fill up a bucket or something with a good cleaner and soak it for a bit to get all the crap and gunked oil out of it. Then give it a good clean out with WD40 after and you should be able to see if anything is seeking out the sides...

get it removed, or a large jublee clip does it apparently.

>dash instrument only reads 70 or sometimes lower :S
goes it go to 90c if when standing still?  If it does, its the thermostat, if not its the temp sensor.

You only ever need two tools in life. If it moves and it shouldn't use Duct Tape. If it does not move and it should, use WD40.
