No heat on the inside of the car
« on: 04 May 2005, 22:29 »
I have a 1989 Golf GTI 8V and when I drive for the first 5 minutes or so I have heat coming out of the vents and then all of a sudden the car gets icy cold and I have no heat at all.

Could anyone advice as to what they think could be the problem?

I have been told by a few people that it may be the thermostat but thougth I would check on the forum before changing it.

Can also be due to low coolant, or in the worst case a knackered heater matrix.
