squealing noise

hey guys,

my mk4 gti makes a squealing type noise for a second after i start the car, sounds like some sort of belt or something but i have no idea about engine side of things.

any help would be much appreciated.

theres a thread on how to in the mk4 section under the maintnance section. (starter motor making a squealing noise) or the aux/alternator belt may need replacing or is loose

as above, get it whipped out stripped down and regreased, then hopefully that should sort it :)

Sounds more like the alternator belt slipping, check it's adjustment
