Some websites suggest £15-20m a year to keep them in the air. Shows abroad are funded by sponsors and not our tax money.

I guess the benefit of getting youngsters into the RAF has decreased due to less opportunity/recruitment?

Slow promotion puts people off, plus I've known people to pvr due to unforfilled expectations and other sh!t that the old timers (20 odd years service) never saw in thier day.

£5m per jet, plus crew, per year to keep them in the sky, and for a member of the public to request a display it would normally cost around the £30-50k mark, so we're nearly as bad a Bugatti at maths.

Thats just being pedantic. A return to the airfield after a display is display related.

Were they not based in Southampton airport? Think they were, they just happened to fly over Bournemouth's airport.
