Torque arm bush
« on: 03 November 2011, 17:13 »
bought a lower engine mount bush for the GTI today

was about £18 or so from awesome. a simple fit so worth a try.

anyone else fitted these?

the VWR website says an upgraded lower mount is a great mod for the MK6 and 'rocco anyway

I think SteveP might have fitted one of these to his mk6.
But that was a while ago and my brain has long since stopped functioning so I may well be wrong.

these seem good bang for your buck mods.

im also thinking about a whit line anti lift kit which should improve things even more. i think they're pretty good value at £160 too

as the alignment needs checking after fitting i will let a garage fit it though.

I fitted the Neuspeed torque arm bush to my car, it used to balk occassionaly going into third, now it is nice and smooth.

A little bit more vibration, particularly in reverse, but liveable with

I've fitted an audi S3 OEM short shifter already which really improved the sloppy gear change and I'm hoping this little piece of rubber improves it even more!

read lots of good things about it so for something so simple it seems good.

I have the Vwr lower engine mount sat in my garage, had it fitted less than a week, too much vibration through the car for me so i replaced it with the standard rubber and fitted the the bush type that slides inside, so much cheaper and smoother,

The Vibration on the solid mount seems to be just on DSGs, Manual box cars don't suffer as much vibration

yeah i read that a few times

also on diesel models the solid mount is meant to be brutal!

theres are 3 tyres of poly insert - petrol fast road/track/diesel

I got the fast road version fitted, still a fair bit of vibration tho
It does get better with the more miles you clock up

The vwr version is by far a better mount but i couldnt live with it day to day

Yes leave them parts to the stripped out racers imo,
Not for everyday driving, it would wind me up
