All GTI's had central locking?

Balls, seems I may have lost a 'discussion'.

 

Does seem to be run out only then that for locking as standard, although I think the vast majority of cars seem to have had it specced from new in my experience?

My G reg has got it, nowhere near run out model. Also has PAS.

According to my cars original sales brochure (1990 G) 16V's had central locking as standard and it was optional on 8V's.

I would imagine most owners would have ticked the option box on the 8V order form though.

Talking of "options" is there a list of what was offered and what the price's were way back when...??

My early model 88 16v has Central locking, Electric windows and power steering, 
Plus it has sum posh steerin wheel with 16v on it apparently So i was told at a car show last year,,

I bet someones got some somewhere.

My car is a own previous owner one, with every scrap of paper, order form, brochure, the lot. It's even still got the original dealer fitted plates. When I bought it, I thought it would be great to have an original window sticker and tax disc holder, so I rang the original dealer on the off chance. They told me they had moved to new premises 18 months before, and chucked boxes and boxes of old stuff just like that away. Sods law eh?

My 1986 8V GTI has central locking  , all electric windows & alloy P slots as standard
IIRC VW were initially  generous , then got a bit tighter as the GTI sold like hot cakes 

but towards the end of MK2 , they again got generous , to shift the run out models

before the MK3

My August '89 8v has it (and PAS).
