Right, 1.8 GU engine, with AUG(pb, 210 clutch) 5 speed box.
Few weeks back, put foot down on clutch pedal while in first and bang, car starts to move along by itself/ stalls.
So i've had box out, clutch looked ok, no damage, but it was getting heavy anyway, so i replaced it today with exactly the same new clutch, fitted box, went to attach cable, and the lever was sitting at 9.00, or just past. wayy to far up. Had green cap off end of the box, no damage to the arm, finger or rod, but the bearing sits about an inch inch in, exactly how it was after it went bang.
I can only find this

Im confused. What other damage could have been done to the box to allow the lever arm to sit so high ? Its a fairly simple clutch system ?
Thankie !!!
