Each to their own and all that.

To someone, it'll be loose change and just something nice to look at.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

I can understand getting carried away and spending that sort of money, over time, on a nutty track/strip mk2, but not to go out and buy one for that. Don't think I'd even look at vw with that sort of money. R32 gtr/ escort cos/ rb26'd 200sx etc etc for me!

You're missing the point that that Golf2 is now a classic and there will be goons who wanted one when they were at school (or at work with kids) who will now be in a position to grab this for their own amusement.

Beats going out buying an MG-B!
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

I say his market is for a collector and big time collectors will pay that.

Can't see that selling soon though.

Yep, and £10k is nothing in the classic market really. Watch good unmolested examples (few cars in history can have been as modded as Mk2s,) increase in value. I've had three classics (two MGBs and a TR6) in the past, and the thing collectors go for is originality and spec. A good valver with this mileage is probably a good investment TBH.

btw...

bbs steering wheel.
lowered
accelorator pedal cover is off a mk1 golf.
indicator lenses.
BBS's are not original finish. Who knows if they were on the optional extra sheet with the car? This will effect the originality imo

Love nit picking
