New distributor what one??
« on: 12 October 2011, 22:22 »
Hi guys i got a mk2 8v digi (PB) i want to change my distributor as im getting missfire and intermitent cut outs and car drives differently every time i drive it, reading up and most people suggest hall sender in the distributor.

the distributor i have atm was changed about a year ago and ever since ive had it i have always had a slight flat spot in 1st geat and low revs in other gears.

now the question is what distributor do i go for i can get a second hand bosch on ebay for under £50

or a new Vipertronix Distributor on ebay about £54 + £7 delivery

i know bosch are the standard for the mk2 (PB), and tbh i have never heard of Vipertronix, are they reliable? will i have problems finding dizzy caps and arms in future??

Thanks

Would a New Dist cap, arm and decent set of leads & new plugs - not just do rather than buying a new Dizzy???

got new cap leads and arm under, had recent head gasket, car been playing up for some time though, the car has always run intermitent with the distributor i got atm anyway was a quick buy from a scrappy as mine died when mate was fitting my highlift,  so might not even be a mk2 dizzy so that could be one of the problems

Ahhh - Oki Doki...

I would buy a Bosch used one - as long as it has come from a working car...

Bosch is the better choice.
