Some filth broke into my car the other week and pulled out the stereo...unbelievably they took the front fascia, but left the stereo unit! morons.  anyway, they kindly unplugged most of the wires, but CUT the aerial connection instead of unplugging it!!

I guess the entire aerial wire will need to be taken out and replaced? I've got the GTI bee-sting, so....

1) where does the aerial go once inside the dashboard i.e up the front side pillar, under the roof lining and then connects to the beesting? or somewhere else?

2) if (1) is applicable do I then have to rethread the new aerial under the headliner - thats sounds a right pain!?

any thoughts guys...electrics are defo not my calling..

cheers

I'm glad you've just asked this I'm about to replace my standard beesting aerial with a dab one and was wondering where the cables run.

You can repair it with one of these :- http://www.maplin.co.uk/car-aerial-plug-1050

If the cable has been cut too short you could add one of these to give you a better signal and i bit more cable.

To do a tidy job though i would take the glovebox out or the passenger airbag and lower glovebox if you have that set up.Gives you more room to work with and if you add the booster you can find an ignition 12v live from one of the switches below your heater controls.
