Best oil out of these two......
« on: 02 September 2011, 13:28 »
I bought some Halfords 10/40 semi-synth when I bought my VR6 the other month just as a peace of mind for me that she has new oil in her.  Anyway after having a hunt around my garage for stuff to sell I found an unopened 5 litre bottle of Total Quartz 7000 (10/40 semi-synth)

Question is.....Shall I drain the Halfords oil and put the Total Quartz in there instead, which of these 2 would be the best?

I am sure I read once that Halfords oil is actually made by Castrol?

Hi Paul,

Glad to see you are still about on here. I expect that VR6 will burn off the Halfords oil pretty quickly so best hang on to the Total stuff to top it up,

All the best J.
