Tuning a VW golf gti 16v mk 3

Hey guys I have just brought a 57i induction kit and was wondering what else i can run with it to make my golf faster. So if anyone has any ideas or parts i will be very grateful

set of cams..
polish and port head.. and manifold matching.. tri cut valves..
stainless manifold.. downpipe.. cat back exhaust..
a good service..
bike carbs or individual throttle bodies..
standalone management
remap

The above should see you into 200bhp+...

That k&n is a waste of money. A modded airbox would have been better and cheaper.

A standalone would be the first stage, as you can gain quite a bit on calibration alone. Any further mods would need optimisation any way. Standard ABF can gain around 20hp from good calibration using a SEM alone.

i wasnt sure about it but someone mentioned the K&N to me so i got one where is the best place to start getting these bits. :D

You need to do some research but probably not on here. Alot of investigation into these engines has been done on CGTI.

Look here. it will show what different specs and engine types really put out.

remove engine scrap car.   fit engine to mk2
all the VW's have gone bar 1.
