Coil ???

Right peeps theres 3 conections on my coil (91 8v GTI) the first 2 have wires coming off of them the bottom one as you look at the engine just has a snapped wire on it dose this earth on to the rocker cover ? if so and its not earthed dose this have any effect on the running of the car ??

If you look you will see two connections one will have two spades and one will have three if you get what i mean. The connection with two spades is the earth which should be earthed to some part of the body or engine the other connection with three spades is live and should be connected to the ignition switch.

Right i see what you mean but on the 3 spade side on my car the bottom spade has a vw connection on it but the wire has snapped what dose this do, were dose it go? my car has nothing earthing on the rocker cover.

That should probs be the earth to the rocker but make sure that its actually an earth if your planning on connecting it.
