weightsaving/brake upgrade:

Original caliper:


Golf mk4 caliper (bigger piston , aluminium, parkingbrake doesn't get stuck)


saving 2 kg's unsprung weight.

Cleaned up the parts for the brake assembly.

bit of an update:

I continued deconstruction, pulled the tank out and the rear beam. The fueltank was a true PITA because of one simple bolt. Found some rust, alot actually.

The grey caliper hasn't been painted because I stil need to replace a dustcover on it.

Massive attention to detail, inspiring! Referring to the under tray, I have one of those from a '91 GTD I had, not sure which of my golfs to put it on! No good on a really low one really but they are handy for catching nuts and bolts if you drop them ;)
