Firing two cylinders
« on: 20 August 2011, 20:57 »
On my 9a only cylinders 1+2 are firing, Ive swapped leads sparks plugs, checked fuel but 3+4 do not fire, compression is ok aswell. I rotated my dizzy around 180 degrees as said my RJ but still only 1+2 fire. WTF could it be.

9a running ms1 v3 running a dizzy. The spark plugs in the non firing cylinders are clean, whilst 1+2 are black (rich map atm) swapped everything around but only 1+2 fire up. Thinking it can only be the dizzy or hall sender or no fuel getting into cylinders somehow. Fuels coming out of all the injectors.

If my map is asking for too much fuel than my injectors can give what would happen. Ive got normal abf injectors in atm which are like 220 cc aren't they. Which when put into required fuel says 15. Atm mine says 11 cant remember what size the ecu builder said I needed.

req fuel   being wrong would just offset the values in the VE tabel.

so th values would ether be larger than they should be or smaller but it would behave the same on all four cylinders.

if it's only fireing on two cyls  the problem is with ignition settings.

if you send an eml with the msq as an attachment to dannyp1595athotmaildotcom  and put megasquirt as the subject i'll have a look when i get 5 mins
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

Ahh right ok, I may just change required fuel to what it should be to see if it makes a difference, well after if youve found anything wrong with the ignition. It is sent under megasquirt as asked.

Thanks

Right basically I haven't got fuel going to cylinders 3+4 as when I pull the wires going to them the engine note stays the same, then when one of either 1+2 is pulled, it stalls near enough.

But when I checked last all 4 inj where squirting! could something after the inj be blocked?

Oh and what does it mean if when starting my car it just makes a whizzing noise, as if the starter motor isnt attachted and just spinning. ..Starer motor :) Not so upset now
