Trading advice....How much to swap?
« on: 30 July 2011, 09:53 »

Hi guys, posted this in the general chat but realised it's probably more specific to the mk5 forum, sorry.

I've been thinking about getting a gti after owning my 118d M Sport for only 4 months. Don't get me wrong it's a fantastic car in every way except the engine which is a 143bhp diesel and as you can imagine it's pretty lazy unless your on boost in which case it then becomes a tepid hatch.

I'd just like to ask your opinion on a gti I've seen.
My cars a low mileage 07 reg manual with FSH in great condish! Its probably worth about 11.5k private (give or take)

The gti is a mk5 (obviously ) 57 reg 5door, manual, 40k, met grey and seen at a indy dealers for £10,695.

Given the car checks out 100%, how do you guys think I should proceed? A straight swap would be nice but that's not going to happen, so how much cash should I be aiming at to swap and get a good deal?

Again, sorry for the double post!

Thanks guys!

Yes, after test driving the golf my BMW seems in a different league build quality wise. So I've decided to remap it and keep it.

Cheers
