Service Costs (80,000)
« on: 13 April 2005, 13:53 »
Hi,

Anybody have an idea of what the 80,000 service should cost?

I have been quoted nearly 300 by the stealers. Cos its a "major" one .... hmmm....

Yep sounds about right.

80k is the biggest service.

You could probably half the service cost at a good independant.

Have you had a quote for the cambelt change?

I did mention the cambelt so im hoping that quote included the cambelt.

It stutters and jerks @ 70MPH or 3000 RPM so thats being checked out (& sorted i hope).

Then it will be let loose (me hopes).

Does anybody know of a good VW Specialist in Manchester?

One word of advice, when dealing with vw dealers you have to use simple words and repeat everything at least four times and make sure they can repeat what you've said and always check what's written on the job sheet before you sign it.

In my experience what you ask them to do and what the service advisor thinks you want done are very different things.

I doubt you will get a cambelt and tensioner changed, and a service for 300 quid at vw....

I have ditched the appointment because cambelt was not included LOL - To$sers....

Some dude has posted the number for Awesome GTi in Irlam, Manchester who have quoted me for service, cambelt etc & sorting the 3000 RPM problem for just over £200.

Saving Nearly over £200.

Thanks
