Exhaust has had it...
« on: 13 July 2011, 11:11 »
So had my new dubber bout 3 months and the back box that was on it [aftermarket sh!t bore thing] has blown baffles and needs replaced. Has anyone any recommendations on back boxes, that give a wee bit of noise but nothing that drones or is gonna draw too much attention from the police, and of course isnt gonna cost an arm and a leg?

I rang a custom place in Newry, Co.Down, and they can make up a back box for £90, although it will be pretty much the same as a standard exhaust, but if I can pick up a decent sports style exhaust for cheap enough i'll just get them to make me up stainless pipes from the manifold instead.

Im pretty open to suggestions as I dont mind whether its a dual pipe exhaust or a single pipe out.

I know you said something that's not going to break the bank, but this sounds like the perfect opportunity to upgrade to a Milltek. You'll never look back, you might also be lucky enough and find something second hand if you want to trawl through the classifieds on a few forums.

Really depends on what kind of system you want. I've a full system which cost the guts of a grand, you can go for a cat back system which would knock a fair bit off that. I'm guessing new, about 3 - 400. As I said, you might be lucky and pick up something second hand if you look around.

went on titanium performance there for a nosey at the price, can only find for golf vi but think 1300quid for a slip on is a bit steep lol anyway if the akrapovic car exhausts are anything like the bike ones i wouldnt be keen, was gonna put a akra on my gixxer but decided against it cos wasnt keen on the sound :)
