The back panel is now sitting where it should and creates a tight seal with the boot lid, the surrounding panels have also been corrected to ensure the n/s light not sits correctly and a few other dents have been pulled out. We then water tested the car to ensure it was watertight, which it appears to be

Every seam which provides the slightest opportunity to allow water through has been coated in a professional grade sealant which is drying as I type. In a few hours this will be painted and the car will be pieced back together.
Fingers crossed it will not be letting any more water in
