 So proud of my wife!!!!

Got home from work before and my wife came to the door and told me she had been pulled on the way home. First thoughts were oh sh*t fixed penalty etc etc...

Got in the door and she told me the story.

The traffic on the motorway had all slowed to 40mph as they went past a traffic cop parked on the hard shoulder

As Nicky drove past she saw him pull out and thought here we go. Lo and behold he came behind her and flashed her to pull over.

He came over to the car looking at the wheels as he did. Nicky got out and he said ive pulled you over because your wheels protrude out of the arches too much. Straight away Nicky said how can they protrude too much when you have vans and wagons with wheels and wheels nuts that protrude a lot further?

The copper couldnt answer the question and said he actually agreed. Nicky told him that she works in the motor trade and has done for 19 years and has checked the legalities on VOSA. She said he was welcome to go away and check it.

She told he he had wasted her time as she was now late to pick our son up from school and she would now struggle to get back onto the motorway as it was now nose to tail.

She proper told him.

Ive learnt not to mess with her when shes in a mood.

The copper got into his car and escorted her back into the inside lane.

I wouldnt mind but the wheels now only stick out by the width of the outer lip only and the full tyre is under the arch

Little bit of an update.

Couple of weeks ago (last minute as is usual) i needed to get this car ready for the stand at All Types which meant a full going over with the clay/polish etc. It had been ages since i last did it.

Spent an entire day washing, claying then polishing it and found time to rip off the front bumper and re secured the LCR splitter and also re attached a few magnets to the back of the bumper to put the front plate back in its normal place.

Actually didnt get any pics of it at All Types myself but did find these (thanks to the people that took them)

The week after All Types as the weather was fantastic we decided to take a trip out to North Wales again to the beach and it would have been rude not to snap  a few pics while it was still looking clean.

And then today i relieved it of its copy sideskirts.

Painted up the genuine replacements just need to get them fitted now.

Whats best to secure them to the car? I used sikaflex to secure the replicas and they didnt stick too well even though sikaflex is good stuff, ive used it a lot.

Heres a couple of pics i took at Detailed

Don't think it looked too bad if I'm honest, and yesterday ordered some parts I've needed for this and today they arrived. Got a new handbrake cable as the current ones stretched beyond belief. Also got this

Took the car up the road for a spin and  :D :D :D   best money I've spent on this car to date. It feels like a whole new car so quick straight through the rev range. We have lived with it being sluggish for so long that i had forgotten just how nippy it is.

I was going to sort these couple of problems and then put the car up for sale in favour of an A4 Avant but after speaking to Nicky we have decided we are going to keep it. Seems silly to sell a car thats been so good for us.
