Probably the best looking Bini yet. Needs lowering a bit more than 52mm if that image is anything to go by.

Theres that term again why don't people just call them MINI's it really annoys me.  I don't own a new MINI but i hate the name

Bini, Bini, Bini, Bini, Bini, Bini

I was establishing a difference between the so called New MINI's and the older Mini's, using the term Bini is more accurate than saying New MINI as they're a decade old now. The last of the old Mini's mk VII imo were very nice, the new Mini's don't really do it for me.

I've got one of the last classics and I love it.  I wold love a MINI at some point either a clubman or a countryman as the hatch isn't really big enough for everyday for me.  Our club has old and new and a trying to promote a united Mini/MINI scene one day we hope it will happen

Besides... they're not mini, they're massi.

Yeah they're bigger but with all the crash protection they have to be my 1999 classic has side impact bars and an air bag scary stuff really.

This is an argument on a lot of the Mini forums and one guy said well look at the golf te new golf is no bigger then the MK1 I think he must be blind.

Can see what you mean about the new golf being bigger...

Even the polo is bigger than the Mk1 golf.

Difference being though, the golf is marketed as a golf, not a mini.

I love MINIs but they're barely related to a proper mini.

I love how quick folk are to jump on the bandwagon that the new MINI is owned by BMW, as if foreign input to the car makes it any less cool.

Cause after all, the original was British all the way to it's roots... Alec Issigonis from Greece.

As far as the topic goes. I like the idea but there are a two problems.

It's a 2 seater coupe yet is no lighter or faster than the regular JCW hatch. The reason being is that it actually works out heavier

The styling is a bit marmite. I love the styling of the hatch and the convertible model but that roof just doesn't look good in my opinion.

It looks ok I guess. Looks like the Mini cabrio but with a lower roof line. Maybe if the rear end and roofline were more coupe-like it would be better. Meh  :undecided:
Not low enough mk5
Not on the road enough mk3

That's true, but equally so the new MINI has a good list of Brits involved.

I was just nit picking. TBH most of the MKI MINI was deigned by Rover before BMW put their oar in. It was originally going to run the K series.
