Not bad if sorted and not badly modded.

Nice wheels, subtle smack with the lowering stick :afro:

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

TBH for 3k it will be a bit of a dog or a high miles boy racer, you need to pay 5k + for a minter. and even then its hard to find one with decent miles. engine code to go for is AMK or BAM and these are only on later models

i am very fond of them

Appreciate the comments guys. I know £3k is what they start at so it'll be all the dogs but I'm not planning on changing until beginning of 2012, so who knows what prices they'll be at then?

If I do get it I do plan on keeping it relatively unmodified. Few subtle cosmetic things and then the typical 1.8T engine stuff to get it running at a nice power

I know tax is a tad more than what I currently pay and fuelwise it'll be around the same as what I get now maybe a tad higher. Wayne has made this difficult by mentioning the Cupra R, which I love. However for some reason I seem to love the Mk1 S3 shape, quattro appeals to me and I've always wanted an Audi, they're an air to them.

a 3k S3 will be an absolute dog of a car, always had people joining audi forums with a cheap S3, then little later the problems started. Theres not much difference in bam and amk, both remap to the same. Doubt youll notice 10bhp in a 1.5 tonne car. You'd want the suspension sorted.
