Did you trash the old ones on your way home on Saturday

Should help knock a couple of tenths off that 0-60 time

They were just sh1te, still had 4.3 mm on the fronts, rears were on 7mm orrible plastic tyres

(I bet your p1ssing your pants for Wednesday morning following that drive - sorry for the delay )

I obviously didn't give it enough stick

No need to apologise

You can drive it for longer when alchohol free

Thanks - it's worth the wait - your job number 1 in the morning

I needed that bottle to help my nerves  :lipsrsealed:

I've got the box in work so I can upload at lunchtime

11500 miles ish mate

I have to admit my Bridgestones are on 18,000 and still have 3mm left/4mm right front and 7mm back too.  And thats VW measurements so probably have more than that.  They did quote me £160 a corner mind!!! How much where the goodyears?
11500 miles though yours is chipped and you probably drive it hard and brake hard?

18k is pretty good ajmoir36, I've read that Golf user usually get 15k out of front tyres.

For many years I've always used http://www.mytyres.co.uk/ though I do fit and balance them at work. They advertise them fitted but that will put the cost up. If you want to compare prices do a search on there?

Negative to be honest there Keith, Like I said 90% of the time I drive like a nun- my MPG should be a big clue there

I do like to drive at a constant speed as much as possible though which in turn tests the handling a lot which in turn requires little braking if any and lots and lots of momentum.

See Eco driving has its merits, fast corners (racing line is an efficient one), lowered cars and a slippy aero package.  Really not sure about bicycle tyres though!  When I want to stop I WANT TO STOP!

Saw a black 5 door GTD today with the 17"Seattle Shadows. Wow, I love those wheels and they appear as if they were 18" in size. I far prefer them to the 18" Charleston Shadows.

Regarding my unhealthy fascination with Rim Protection, my plastic Bridgestones came good again today and protected my Monza Shadows from kerbing.
Bridgestones have 5.5 mm rim protection, Continentals 5 mm rim protection and Goodyears 4.5 mm rim protection. The Russians say so!

That's all.

Just seen the 2s on a Mk5 GTI with curbed 18" Monzas. You're right. MASSIVE. Really MASSIVE.

Re-reading my post, it sounds a bit sarcastic. He had his tyres changed this week so the kerbing was before. Whew! Could not be subjected to Doc's wrath.
