Certain trim levels of mk3s came with 13"s as standard, but to get the gearing right, you'd have to fit Zeppelins.

Personally, if you're going for the massive steel look on an estate, you want something like my old wheels: 15x8J ET17 Tyres were 195/45

That would require arch work and camber to get it to fit without scrubbing, which I wasn't prepared to do - hence the sale.

If I were in the market for another set of small diameter steels, I'd ask weller to make a set of 15x8 in a friendlier offset of about 25/30 - failing that you could do what I'm doing at the moment and source a set of Renault Scenic steels which are 4x100 and 16" diameter and get them banded.

Given he said not too wide, and 13"ish.

I'm guessing what he wants is 13" diameter steels, with decent width ~7/8".

I personally wouldn't run 13s on a mk3, far too small unless the sills are half inch off the floor.
Someone on Club Polo put the 13s they had for the Polo onto their Vento for a laugh and the sump was sitting on the ground
Not low enough mk5
Not on the road enough mk3
